DXF File Conversion Cannot Create an Empty Drawing for Generating Flat Views

Problem Description

An error message referring to that the empty drawing cannot be created for generating the flat views appear into the What is Wrong dialog box while trying to make DXF files from the parts using the CUSTOMTOOLS Print/Convert feature.

Cause

This error is caused because the default template file of the SOLIDWORKS Drawings cannot be found. For that reason the file conversion is trying to create an empty drawing which fails.

Solution

Use the following instructions to solve this issue:

1. Open the SOLIDWORKS System Options.
2. In the SOLIDWORKS System Options, select the Default Templates node.
3. In the Drawings box, setup a valid path to the SOLIDWORKS drawing template file (*.drwdot)
