Bidirectional link to ERP/MRP system
CustomTools offers a bidirectional link to almost any kind of ERP/MRP systems. The ERP/MRP link allows you to import and export values from/to your ERP.
The content of each attribute field can be imported from any given database through ODBC interface. CustomTools can read a single or multi-level structure from the SolidWorks assembly to a transfer file or database table. Users are able to search item information directly from the material planning system.
- Importing values: You are able to search and retrieve values from your ERP and insert them in the CustomProperty pane. Those values can be linked and synchronised between your ERP and SolidWorks. Values can be retrieved from different tables in your ERP. In addition, you can use the ERP link to fill out your look-up list, using a SQL query, to retrieve values from a particular column (e.g. Customers).
- Exporting values: With the CustomStructure you are able to export the BOM (Bill Of Materials) to your ERP or any other formats (Html, excel formats) and create new item in your ERP. The CustomStruture is managed via profiles that can be customized/translated based on the BOM that you want to produce. The BOM profile can be customized with SolidWorks or your CustomTools’ custom properties. Moreover, you can also create new items in your ERP from SolidWorks (Using CustomProperties).
